Click on title of web page you are interested in. Resources are listed by characterstics of a student with mild to moderate challenges, by NC Essential Standards / North Carolina Standard Course of Study for first grade subjects: math, science, world languages, and social studies.

For example, a student in your class is a Tactile-Kinesthetic learner, click on that section to find adaptations and modifications for teaching this first grade student.

#1  NC ESSENTIAL STANDARDS AND COMPETENCIES:  

The NC Essential Standards and competencies for a selected grade level have been used to develop adaptations to facilitate student success in the general curriculum across specific academic domains in the grade level curriculum.  The NC Essential Standards and competencies for a second grade level has been used to develop adaptations to facilitate student success in the general curriculum across specific academic domains in the grade level curriculum.  

#2  STATEMENT OF GENERAL LIMITATIONS:

This resource guide contain general modifications, accommodations and strategies for first grade students with mild to moderate disabilities.  Search this guide according to the learning characteristics of students. You will need to look at this resource either in context of the child's IEP or by the charactersitics of the child.
